June 29-30 , 2005: DCI hosted a booth at the Southeastern Electric Exchange Annual Conference & Trade Show, at the Baltimore Marriott Hotel.
June 1-2, 2005: DCI held its 7th biannual Energy Asset Management Executive Forum, in Vienna, VA, at the Dulles Hyatt Hotel. It was sponsored by DCI/American Electric Power/Northeast Utilities/Pepco Holdings. Over 25 U.S. and Canadian utilities participated in the Forum. April 25 , 2005: Miki Deric and Collier Hall discussed Preparing for Regulatory Oversight before a Major Weather-Caused Event at the Southeastern Electrical Exchange. Most major storm restoration efforts end up with some degree of a utility's response in regulatory review. In order to effectively address these reviews and support the outcome, utilities must dedicate a significant amount of resources. DCI will discuss how to effectively prepare and manage regulatory reviews in order to learn from past experiences.. and improve operations without new regulations and requirements that hinder productivity.
April 3-6, 2005: Miki Deric and Collier Hall discussed Performance-Based Rate-making and Standards at the EEI T&D Conference in Tampa, Florida.
March 31-April 1, 2005: Collier Hall and Grant Davies spoke at the American Edison Illuminating Company Operating Committee on March 31-April 1. The focus of the discussion was Disaster Recovery and Emergency Management. DCI administered a survey of the participants regarding their practices and will present the results at the session.
March 8-9,2005: DCI and Florida Power & Light collaborated on a workshop (March 8-9) on Disaster Recovery and Emergency Management. Approximately eighty leaders of major electric utilities were invited to participate in one of the largest workshops in the industry to exchange ideas and experiences related to service restoration efforts, mutual aid, and logistics.
Spring 2005: The overwhelming positive response received as a result of the first Emergency Management and Restoration Executive Forum, held October 28, 2004, led to a decision to continue the discussions in a second session, time to be determined. November 2004: DCI held its fall Energy Executive Asset Management Forum, November 15-16, in Anaheim, CA, at the Disney Grand California Hotel. November 2004: DCI Healthcare VP participated in BIO Europe in Cologne, Germany November 8-10. Dr. Karen Gilberg participated in the BIO Europe partnering sessions to present our R&D Risk Assessment* Process and Tools, which have been used by our clients to help them to increase the commercial value and the speed to market of individual projects, as well as to facilitate portfolio management and the screening of in-licensing opportunities.
