Grant Davies
Chief Executive Officer
Grant Davies founded DCI to focus on translating improvement strategies into bottom-line results. Mr. Davies has more than 30 years experience consulting to clients in the energy, healthcare, telecommunications, financial services and funding institutions, and technology industries. He provides consulting services in process design and improvement, strategic and business planning, financial systems, operations improvement, and change management.

Prior to forming DCI, Mr. Davies was a management consulting partner at Robert H. Shaffer & Associates and a partner at Touche Ross (now Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu), where he managed the company’s global telecommunications practice.  Mr. Davies has a B.Sc degree from Concordia University and an M.B.A in finance and economics from McGill University.

Miki Deric
President
Miki Deric has over a decade of experience consulting to energy, healthcare, international funding institutions, publishing companies, and telecommunications in the areas of operational improvement, business process redesign, asset management, strategic planning, and change management.  In addition, Mr. Deric has extensive knowledge of power delivery business practices, large system implementation approaches and change management methods. 

Prior to joining DCI, Mr. Deric worked at the World Bank as a consultant, focusing on the affect of the World Bank’s operating procedures on resettlement issues.  Mr. Deric holds a Master’s degree in International Management from Thunderbird – American Graduate School of International Management, and a BS degree in Finance from Northern Arizona University.

Brooke Davies
Chief Operating Officer
Brooke Davies has more than five years experience consulting to energy, healthcare, and international funding institutions.  Ms. Davies has focuses on the areas of operational improvement, decision support tools, strategic and business planning, change management, and emergency planning and preparedness.

Prior to joining DCI, Ms. Davies worked as a Civil Litigation and Land Use Attorney and served as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland and the Court of Special Appeals for Maryland. Ms. Davies has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University and a Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law, American University, and is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bars and the Bar Association of Montgomery County, MD.

Ellen Vancko
Senior Vice President, Energy
Ellen Vancko comes to DCI with more than 25 years of experience in the energy sector. In addition to in-depth expertise in electricity market structure and design, electric reliability, critical infrastructure protection, and energy management and conservation, she has extensive industry experience in crisis communications and response planning, strategic planning and implementation, regulatory strategy, government and stakeholder relations, issue management, and media and public relations.

Prior to joining DCI, Ms. Vancko served as Director of Communications and Government Affairs for the North American Electric Reliability Council, where she directed corporate communications and stakeholder and governmental relations activities leading up to NERC's successful transition to become the North American Electric Reliability Organization. Earlier in her career, she was Director of Policy Analysis at Allegheny Energy, Manager of Power Supply Regulation at the Edison Electric Institute, and an energy management consultant to government and industry. She holds a master's degree in energy management and policy from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor of arts in political science from the George Washington University.

Karen Gilberg, M.D.
Senior Vice President, Healthcare
Dr. Gilberg is a specialist in internal medicine and endocrinology with over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, having worked in senior management positions at both the national and global corporate level. She has extensive experience in the areas of global drug development, drug regulatory affairs, international product defense, health economics, strategic marketing, and pricing and reimbursement. Dr. Gilberg provides consulting services to life sciences and healthcare companies and healthcare foundations in her areas of expertise: drug development; strategic marketing; health economics; pricing and reimbursement; the value and appropriate utilization of pharmaceuticals and biologics; and the impact of international healthcare systems on the utilization of pharmaceuticals, biologics and healthcare services.

Prior to joining DCI, Dr. Gilberg was Corporate Head of Business Intelligence and Market Access at Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH (BIGmbH) in Germany.   In this position, she headed BIGmbH’s international activities in market research, business intelligence, health economics, market access, health policy, and disease management.

Patrick Delaney
Vice President, Analytic Solutions
Patrick Delaney has over 20 years of experience in strategic and operational decision development, modeling and analysis. Since Mr. Delaney joined DCI, he has focused on implementing strategic processes to support decision making, risk mitigation, asset management, and policy execution.  In his capacity as Vice President, Analytic Solutions, Mr. Delaney oversees the continued evolution of DCI’s suite of decision support tools, including Asset Investment Strategy™ (AIS™), Circuit Reliability Optimization Tool® (c-ROPT®), TTM (Tree Trimming Model)®, Pricing and Reimbursement Model (PaR®), Customer Impact Simulator™ (CIS)™, Asset Life Cycle Analysis Model™ (ALCA™), and Storm Restoration Planning and Education Model.

Prior to joining DCI, Mr. Delaney was an officer in the U.S. Army, serving as an Assistant Professor of Systems Engineering at the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY.  In this position, Mr. Delaney taught, directed course work, and performed extensive research using discrete-event simulation.  Mr. Delaney has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY and a Masters of System Engineering from the University of Virginia. 

Calvin Stewart
Vice President, Energy Strategic Relations
Calvin Stewart has a 30-year history in the utility industry, with experience in operations, system planning, reliability, restoration, and demand-side program planning and implementation.   Since joining DCI, Mr. Stewart has developed and implemented emergency restoration plans for utilities, led a DCI team in evaluating the restoration performance of Seattle City Light following a recent major storm, and led the DCI study on the State of Reliability Regulation in the United States, which has been published as a joint paper with the Edison Electric Institute.

Prior to joining DCI, Mr. Stewart was Vice President for Business Development for CMC Energy Services, where he had oversight on program development and implementation, and at Pentech Energy Solutions, Inc., where he served as General Manager for the Northeast Region. His prior utility work was at PEPCO and at Potomac Edison Co., a subsidiary of Allegheny Power.
